EVENT Lab - Experimental Virtual Environments for Neuroscience and Technology

The EVENT Lab for Neuroscience and Technology is a group that carries out research in computer graphics and virtual environments.
This new laboratory was formed at UPC during 2006 and 2007, and the EVENT Lab was founded in late 2007.

group photoIt has both a technological goal, which is to improve algorithms, methods and interactive techniques in these disciplines, and a scientific goal which is to understand how people interact within immersive virtual environments. We are located in the Universitat de Barcelona, Departament de Personalitat, Avaluació i Tractament Psicològic .

The unification of these goals is to build virtual environments in which people respond realistically to virtual events and situations. Hence technological progress is ultimately informed by scientific understanding, and scientific understanding can be improved through the exploitation of technology - for example, using VEs as a laboratory in which to study human behaviour.

The Computational-Event Lab is the computer graphics and virtual environments arm of the EVENTLab , which is a group of neuroscientists and computer scientists who carry out research together on these issues.
